The world is at your feet as a certified engine mechanic at KLM. You maintain, overhaul, and modify aircraft engines and individual components. It's also your responsibility to certify them. With your experience, you serve as a role model for junior engine mechanics. This gives you the opportunity to surpass yourself and help your colleagues progress, every day.
What will you do?
When a damaged aircraft engine arrives at the Engine Shop, you assess its condition. You disassemble the engine and inspect all individual components. What needs to be replaced, and what materials are required? If necessary, you consult with a specialist. After the repair, you check whether everything has been delivered according to module and prepare the repaired engine for shipment. Additionally, you will supervise new colleagues: teaching them and ensuring they can work independently as quickly as possible.
- You test the engine for internal damage and detect any anomalies;
- You work with various engine types;
- You always keep the customer’s requirements in mind;
- You report daily to the team lead and the lead mechanic of the Engine Shop;
- You perform administrative tasks;
- You adhere to safety regulations.
