Data Science | Computer Science internship: analysis & reporting

Introduction

The Global Quality and Excellence department drives data‑informed decision-making across ASML. The team improves performance and supports strategic initiatives through advanced analytics and clear reporting insights. As part of this mission, this internship helps strengthen customer-facing analytics and supports the growth of reliable dashboards and data pipelines. You will work with experts who translate complex business questions into actionable analytics. This internship gives you the opportunity to contribute directly to ASML’s continuous improvement efforts.

Your assignment

The team consists of eight data professionals. You will work closely with a senior data analyst and learn how to turn stakeholder questions into clear analytical solutions. You will support dashboard development, data integration, and basic data engineering activities. Your main responsibilities will be:

• Develop dashboards that support storytelling and clear decision-making.
• Integrate data from several internal sources into consistent and accessible reports.
• Clean, transform, and validate data to safeguard quality and reliability.
• Document data workflows and reporting steps for transparency and reuse.
• Collaborate with your mentor and stakeholders to translate needs into analytics.
• Contribute to cross-functional discussions on data interpretation and usage.
• Explore opportunities to improve existing analyses or reporting designs.

This is a bachelor’s or master’s internship for a minimum of 5 months, minimum 3 days per week (1 day on-site every 2 weeks). The start date of this internship is as of September 2026 (earlier is possible).

Your profile

To be suitable for the internship, you:

• Are enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in data science, computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field.
• Bring familiarity with dashboarding or data tools such as SQL, DAX, or scripting for data manipulation.
• Understand basic concepts of data integration and data engineering.
• Have strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Communicate clearly and collaborate well with others.

Other requirements you need to meet:

• You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship;
• Attach your cover letter with a clear motivation why you are interested in this internship assignment in particular;
• You need to be located in the Netherlands to be perform your internship. In case you are currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter includes the willingness to relocate.
• If you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement).
