Data Engineering internship: building data pipelines and dashboards

Introduction

In the Machine Conditioning department, the defectivity group works on improving key performance indicators of state‑of‑the‑art lithography machines. Data analysis and data visualization are key aspects of understanding the behavior of lithography scanners, which will ultimately improve performance indicators.

Your assignment

• Scope all available data, create data pipelines, apply statistical methods to process data, and visualize relevant information through dashboards.
• Contribute towards data visualization that will be used by engineers and managers across the globe.
• Gain hands‑on experience in creating data pipelines, data analysis and data visualization.
• Working in a fast‑paced environment, and gain insight on how performance issues are handled in one of the complex machines ever built.

This is a master (thesis or non‑thesis) internship for a minimum of 5 months, minimum 4 days per week (on‑site). The start date of this internship is as of February 2026.

Your profile

• Have a background in Computer Science, Data Science, Physics, or related.
• Must have experience with Python and SQL.
• Preferably have experience with C++ and MATLAB.
• Preferably have experience with statistics.
• Possess great communication skills in English, both written and verbally.

Other requirements you need to meet

• You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship.
• Attach your cover letter with a clear motivation why you are interested in this internship assignment in particular.
• You need to be located in the Netherlands to perform your internship. If you are currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter should include the willingness to relocate.
• If you are a non‑EU citizen studying in the Netherlands, your university must be willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement).
