About the Improvement team

The Improvement team is part of the Integrated Quality & Performance Improvement organization within Thales Netherland. The focus of the Improvement team is on structurally solving complex end‑to‑end issues across organizational functions and disciplines by deploying best practices and fixing the basics. The ambition is to fix root causes instead of fighting the symptoms of sub‑optimal performance. In addition, we focus on behavioral change and leadership to ensure sustainable change. We use an outside‑in approach by bringing customer focus and embracing industry best practices/standards.

The improvement team has several fields of expertise, such as program/project management for large Improvement Initiatives, change management, quality, Lean and Business Process Management (PLM & ERP).

For the Improvement team we are in search of a Business Architect with a focus on Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).

About your future job

As a Business Architect, you are the connector between strategy, processes, and technology. You ensure that the organization’s business objectives are translated into clear architectural designs and practical roadmaps. With a holistic view across departments, you align business needs with IT capabilities, enabling the organization to grow in a structured, efficient, and future‑proof way.

You will be working on the edge between business and IT, help & challenge process owners to build an aligned process landscape and are the linking pin between the Business and the IT department to line‑up applications supporting our primary processes. You will challenge our current way of working and bring industry best practices. Your primary focus will be on the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) architecture to ensure our growth ambitions and for this you will be working in close collaboration with the Thales Group Architects.

Your main tasks are

  • Improve our business architecture and process chains, and build a coherent framework to serve as a basis for executing transformation programs.
  • Advise management and stakeholders on digital transformation and process improvements.
  • Ensure alignment between business, information and IT architecture.
  • Build and animate communities w.r.t. ERP to ensure a better collaboration between our disciplines within both business and IT areas.
  • Act as a sparring partner for executives, IT teams and business stakeholders.
  • Connect to the product lifecycle value chain with awareness of the field of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM).
  • Lead change and improvement initiatives related to ERP.
  • Ensure governance, standards and best practices are applied consistently.
  • Implement change management strategies to ensure successful adoption of improvements.

Why you'd be a good match

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Information Management, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Business Architect, Enterprise Architect, or similar role.
  • Understanding of our business and the field of Business Applications, especially ERP
  • Strong knowledge of ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Broad knowledge of business process management and digital transformation.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills; able to translate complex issues into clear designs and advice.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to connect stakeholders across all levels.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, complex and multi‑national environment wherein you manage/influence various stakeholders, challenge the status quo and solve problems
  • A true team player who thrives in collaborative environment and contributes to a positive team dynamic
  • Experience with frameworks such as TOGAF, ArchiMate, or BPMN is a plus.

Als starter bij Thales ontvang je een bruto maandsalaris van ongeveer €3.888, afhankelijk van de functie en ervaring. Salarisgroei is gebaseerd op prestaties, ervaring en marktconformiteit.
