About the SAP FTS Program
At the start of 2024, we launched a large-scale, multi-year Outsystems project to simplify our IT landscape and deliver the best pension products to our customers. Within the SAP FTS program, we are building a Business Process Management (BPM) application on top of our pension administration in SAP, using agile/scrum methods. With this new application, we aim not only to simplify our IT landscape but also to optimize our processes and customer experience. We work with various expertise and backgrounds to achieve standardization, simplification, and optimization of our core processes. Think of processes around important life events such as retirement, changing jobs, getting married, or cohabiting, but also commercial processes such as quoting and implementing pension contracts.
What you are going to do
- As a Tech Lead, you play a leading role in working with the teams to shape this new application. You work closely with developers, analysts, testers within the teams. Currently we are working in this program with 6 multidisciplinary DevOps teams, and 2 Tech Leads. Because of the scale of this project and the amount of teams we want to enforce the teams with a third Tech Lead.
- You are responsible for the overall quality and future‑proofing of the systems and take our non‑functional requirements into account. Furthermore, you monitor the application’s architecture, code quality and integrations with third party applications. You take an active role in determining possible improvements, realizing adjustments while testing your own and other’s code. Also you align closely with the other Tech Leads and teams to make sure development is consistent throughout the entire application.
- You are responsible for following an Agile Scrum approach when designing and developing business applications. You support feature delivery demos, production deployments and overall solution rollout procedures.
- You support the product owner and business analysts by converting user demands into technical requirements for the sprint backlog. You align these with the DevOps team members to arrive at the best possible solution. And you are able to support the product owner in splitting the project into stages for low‑risk transition and adoption by business units.
- As more business processes from multiple teams are going into production, you align with the other teams on our Ops activities and incident management. Together you define clear ways of working.
- You lead by example and coach other engineers in‑ and outside your team to work in OutSystems to our company’s best practices and way of working in maintaining application performance, reliability, and security.

Who you are
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in IT
- At least 5 years of experience as an Outsystems (Tech Lead) developer, including API development and third‑party integrations, BDD and BPT
- Experience with coaching, application architecture, non‑functional requirements and working within a complex IT environment
- Work experience in the financial services market or a drive to quickly gain the knowledge you need to develop our systems and applications
- A good command of written and spoken English, as we are an international organisation
Who you will work with
Our OutSystems multidisciplinary DevOps teams consist of a product owner, multiple OutSystems developers, a business analyst, a tester, and an Agile Release Train Engineer. Each close‑knit team with diverse backgrounds, where we continuously improve our processes together. We regularly organise retrospectives and feedback sessions to keep each other sharp, but we also celebrate our successes. Collaboration is high on the agenda.
