Within the Global Research team, you will support the Global Head of Research & the Head of Research NL. We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic, proactive Personal Assistant. The team

The Global Research team provides economic, market, geopolitical and sector insights for internal decision makers, ING’s customers and the broader public. We form objective views on what is happening in the world around us and share these. The team consists of about 80 colleagues working across the globe. The team is very visible, both internally as externally, for example in the media, at events and as a source of insights to the organisation, for example via ING THINK economic and financial analysis | ING Think. The team experiences a strong feeling of accomplishment – we love what we do. Our ‘Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging’ index as measured by the OHI-survey stands at a very high level and we aim to have a positive culture where people feel they can excel. The team is led by its global management team, headed by ING’s Global Head of Research/Chief Economist.

Role & Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities will be calendar management and planning and organizing and ensuring that your managers are well prepared for the variety of daily activities including travel.

You also have an administrative role in, for example, Workday processes, e-profit and Ibuy.

You see and organise the social fabric of the team

Given the nature of the work and access to confidential and sensitive information, the role is deemed to be ‘sensitive’. An extra security clearance is required by the Corporate Special Investigations (CSI) team.

How to succeed

  • Experience & Education: You have at least 5 years of experience as a Personal Assistant in an international environment, supporting senior leaders. A bachelor’s degree in office management or secretarial education is required.
  • Digital Proficiency: You are fluent in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint), MS Teams, and curious about how AI tools can enhance daily tasks, even if you’re still learning.
  • Organizational Skills: You excel at prioritizing tasks, managing details, and staying calm under pressure and tight deadlines. You also have experience organizing meetings, events, and logistics with precision and care.
  • Communication & Collaboration: You bring strong problem-solving skills, active listening, and excellent written and verbal communication in both English and Dutch. You work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Mindset & Initiative: You’re proactive, resourceful, and have a ‘can-do’ mentality. You anticipate what’s coming next and make work lighter for everyone, including yourself.
  • Interpersonal & Cultural Sensitivity: You navigate diverse environments with empathy, excellent networking skills, and high cultural awareness.
  • Discretion & Integrity: You handle sensitive topics and confidential information with professionalism and care

Het sollicitatieproces voor het International Talent Programme (ITP) van ING bestaat uit meerdere stappen. Je begint met het indienen van je cv, cijferlijst en het beantwoorden van motivatievragen. Een traditionele motivatiebrief is niet nodig. Vervolgens doorloop je een online assessment, gevolgd door één of meerdere interviews. Het gehele proces duurt doorgaans vier tot zes weken.

Als starter bij ING werk je aan diverse projecten binnen je vakgebied, zoals finance, risk of IT. Je week bestaat uit klantoverleggen, teammeetings en tijd voor persoonlijke ontwikkeling. Flexibiliteit is belangrijk; je werkt zowel op kantoor, bij de klant als vanuit huis.

Na het afronden van het ITP stroom je door naar een vaste functie binnen ING. Er zijn diverse programma's en trainingen beschikbaar om je te ondersteunen in je professionele ontwikkeling, afhankelijk van je interesses en prestaties.

Het startsalaris voor een starter bij ING varieert, afhankelijk van de functie en ervaring. Bijvoorbeeld, een financieel analist verdient gemiddeld €51.613 per jaar. Daarnaast biedt ING een aantrekkelijk pakket aan secundaire arbeidsvoorwaarden, waaronder een dertiende maand, vakantiegeld en een individueel keuzebudget.
