ABN Amro’s FX Trading team is looking for an enthusiastic and analytical eFX Quant trader to strengthen our ranks and join us in our mission to build and innovate our way to the bleeding edge of electronic FX Trading. The FX trading desk is ABN’s nexus for all foreign exchange risk—you will be part of a team that serves as the backbone for the provision of a series of FX products that the bank’s clients use to manage their foreign currency exposure.

The role involves designing, implementing, and deploying trading algorithms with the ideal candidate having a background in a quantitative field, solid understanding of Computer Science fundamentals and strong business acumen or a commercial mindset.

Your job

• Build, enhance, test and maintain our trading algorithms (Java) and analytics framework (Python)
• Use programming skills to automate trading processes and optimize performance
• Analyze large datasets to extract actionable insights.
• Work with our various stakeholders (IT, Sales, Data Engineers, and Risk)
• Occasionally manage risk books

Your profile

• University degree or PhD degree from a top tier university in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics or equivalent STEM degree
• Experience of 12-30 months in a similar role.
• Strong programming skills and a genuine desire to write simple, clean, and correct code.
• Solid Analytics skills including experience dealing with large amount of data.
• Enthusiasm for financial markets, with an interest in understanding market dynamics, trends, and the factors influencing financial instruments.
• Team player with a hands-on practical and proactive approach in solving complex problems.

Nice to have

• Experience within algorithmic (FX) trading and market microstructure is a strong plus.
• Background in FX
• Experience with (high-performance) databases and building data pipelines for real-time and historical analysis.

We are offering

• We offer salary scales that match different levels of experience (scale 8, 9, and 10). The salary range goes from €4,500 to €8,400 per month, including holiday allowance and a benefit budget. This way, your compensation reflects the expertise and experience you bring to the table.
• A discretionary performance-based bonus
• The Benefit Budget is 11% of your salary. The Benefit Budget allows you to acquire additional employment benefits. If you make no purchases or reservations in the Benefit Shop in a given month, you are paid one twelfth of your Benefit Budget that month.
• Five weeks of vacation per year. You have the option to purchase an additional four weeks per year.
• Personal development Budget of € 1,000 per year, which you can accumulate up to € 3,000.
