Join Abbott Biologicals – Shape the Future of Influenza Vaccines. At Abbott Biologicals, part of Abbott’s Established Pharmaceuticals Division, we’re advancing global health through the development and production of essential active ingredients, including influenza vaccines, at our state‑of‑the‑art facilities in Weesp and Olst. We are now looking for a strategic and experienced Senior Scientist to join our Competence Center Influenza (CCI) and help shape the future of vaccine innovation.
Your Impact
As Senior Scientist, you will lead scientific initiatives that support and improve influenza vaccine production. You’ll work at a strategic level, designing solutions, guiding cross‑functional teams, and contributing to regulatory documentation. This is not a hands‑on lab role, but a high‑level scientific position requiring broad expertise and leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead scientific projects and troubleshoot production or QC challenges
- Design and oversee experimental plans, monitor progress, and report findings
- Contribute to CMC documentation and regulatory submissions (eCTD)
- Represent CCI in cross‑functional teams and drive improvement initiatives
- Support the annual influenza vaccine update process
What You Bring
- Master’s or PhD in a relevant scientific field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry
- Strong background in CMC and scientific writing
- Solid understanding of vaccine production and analytical techniques (e.g., USP/DSP, protein characterization, molecular biology)
- Strategic mindset with excellent communication and project leadership skills
- Fluency in English. Dutch is a plus but not required
- Preferably full‑time availability (40 hours/week)
