We work in the global Sustainable Business and Communications (SB&C) function to support Unilever’s business ambition of doubling the size of the company while reducing environmental impact and improving the life of a billion people.

As part of the SB&C function, this Communications Europe Executive will contribute to:

• Supporting & engaging our employees in building an understanding of how their personal contribution plays a role in our day-to-day success and our vision for sustainable growth;
• Connecting employees with our products, with each other and with our work to create a movement for sustainable growth. 

• Ensuring that  the European Strategic Plan is clear and well-known by all employees in Europe including the factories, no matter what work level, function or location to ensure alignment in the company

The main purpose of the role

• Support the VP Sustainable Business & Communications in her role as business partner of the President Europe
• Using Leadership Communications to communicate the long-term vision, strategy and goals for the cluster
• Creating engagement, connectedness and enthusiasm amongst employees for our company, the world of our consumers, our brands and all we stand for
• Support our vision to achieve sustainable growth
• Organizing and coordinating events, (internal) campaigns, and monthly town hall meetings.
• Gathering stories, examples and information on best practices regarding sustainability (that can be used to create a regular ‘news flow’ internally via the corporate media mix
• Instruct and supervise (creative) agencies

Key Skills:
 
• Excellent communicator in English and Dutch; verbal and  written: the ability to put things clearly and simply so that others can understand
• ‘Can do’ attitude
• Good business understanding
• Organisational sensitivity
• Efficient and orderly method of work
• Ability to prioritise multiple workloads and meet deadlines  
• A committed and flexible approach 
 
Essentials:
 
• A background in communications (university graduate, preferably in journalism, communications)
• Experience of working in a communication department, in a fast complex, fast-moving environment 
• Knowledge of employee engagement communications projects in a complex, fast-moving environment
• Knowledge and experience in enabling clear communication by deploying communication tools and channels
• Project management expertise
