International Market Solutions (IMS) is the business unit of PostNL which provides international delivery solutions to businesses worldwide. IMS makes it easy for people and businesses to communicate and trade across international boundaries. It aims to become the most respected service provider by supporting the cross border e-commerce and traditional mail market through creative and innovative distribution solutions. It holds 13 offices worldwide, and with 1,000 employees they serve over 200 countries. The Central Management Team and supporting departments like HR, Finance, Business Development, Global Network Development and Marketing are located at PostNL’s Head Office in The Hague.
For the Marketing department we are searching for a Portfolio Manager Cross Border Mail who defines and executes a clear strategy for the business market portfolio (including bulk mail letters, DM, Mixed).

In this role you are the ambassador of PostNL for the sales team outside the Netherlands (working under the brand Spring Global Mail) and the ambassador for the Spring sales teams to the domestic PostNL organisation. You are their go-to person to make products work cross border.

The most important competencies in this role are persuasion, persistence, analytical skills and entrepreneurship.

Responsibilities Portfolio Manager Cross Border Mail

• Linking Pin between Domestic Portfolio developments and Cross Border requirements;
• Support your customer group (main focus on Dutch customers sending abroad, secondary focus on International customers sending to the Netherlands) on selling the portfolio;
• Accompany account managers on customer visits up on request;
• Responsible for customer satisfaction for products in the portfolio;
• Identify business needs in the market, quantifies these needs and translates them into propositions and a cohesive portfolio, keeping in mind the total product portfolio of PostNL/Spring;
• Develop a vision and strategy for the portfolio, taking into account the long term developments with external customers as well as the internal organisation and creates support and commitment for these plans with senior management;
• Define and execute approach to the product portfolio.

Jouw profiel / Your Profile

• HBO/Academic level;
• Minimum of 3 years experience in logistics environment;
• Fluent in English and Dutch;
• Good communication skills on different levels (operations, day-2-day, senior management);
• Good presentation and training skills;
• Goal and result driven;
• Interest in policies and their background;
• Determined to create solutions;
• Sensitive to your environment (not afraid of politics);
• Be an ambassador for the vision on the portfolio;
• Knowledge of the operational processes and marketing & sales activities.
