Role description

  • The Benelux & Germany A&M Purchasing Manager is responsible for the strategy development, initiative implementation and ongoing management of cost effective purchasing for Benelux & Germany A&M categories ($60MM total external spend per annum)
  • Annual productivity target for the role = $3MM + 10% stretch (5% of spend min delivery)
  • The A&M Benelux & Germany Procurement manager works closely with WESA, European and Global A&M leads, as well as local marketing teams, to drive the overall A&M purchasing strategy and ensure full implementation of key projects in the Benelux & Germany.

Main purpose

The key objective is to improve return on investment and deliver improved value (typically 5% YOY productivity savings minimum) from A&M external supplier spend in the Benelux & Germany.

The role includes:

  • Establish a Benelux & Germany regional purchasing strategy for A&M, ensuring a solid long term productivity pipeline (5% of spend) through category expertise development and market intelligence.
  • Ensure full alignment and adoption in the Benelux & Germany of all Sector & Global led A&M purchasing initiatives, securing successful execution.
  • Identify key productivity projects/initiatives, develop and align these with senior stakeholders, (Sales, marketing, finance and European leads) and suppliers, implementing to capture savings.
  • Strategic supplier relationship management (set up preferred supplier rosters, monitor and track supplier performance, corrective action and escalation processes)
  • Lead demand management initiatives with functional stakeholders to optimize and control spend as well as ensure adoption across key tools such as Decideware.
  • Capture the value delivered from the initiatives and fully align with stakeholders and finance on delivered values.
  • Own and manage A&M Benelux & Germany Category on myBuy. (Category Cards & new supplier approvals)

 

Accountabilities

  • Develop, implement and/or adapt comprehensive strategies and demand management policies that optimize PepsiCo's A&M Benelux & Germany external supplier spend (including tools, processes, supply relationships) across Benelux & Germany. Key measure 5% productivity ongoing.
  • Work with sector and global procurement team to develop Middle Term and Long Term productivity pipeline, while continuously delivering against stretched short term objectives through total cost of ownership approach.
  • Achieve a minimum of 80% purchasing coverage through driving credibility and trust with internal stakeholders, PepsiCo purchasing community and suppliers.
  • Implement Supplier Relationship Management, evaluation processes and relevant KPI's covering quality/ service / innovation / sustainability / value for Benelux & Germany A&M
  • Develop and share best practices via effective networking with WESA team & other A&M colleagues in Europe as well as globally through wider A&M global team.
  • Track, report and capture value delivery in Benelux & Germany P&Ls via Stakeholders and finance with consistent & accurate reporting through Powersteering.

Job Requirements

  • 3+ years minimum of Marketing Procurement and/or Marketing experience.
  • Ideally a background in Procurement within FMCG environment.
  • Ability to lead and apply strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management and total cost of ownership.
  • Sound knowledge of Advertising and Marketing category, particulary above the line agencies, including Media.
  • Role requires a combination of strategic thinking & executional excellence.
  • Results orientated - comfortable identifying, setting & delivering against stretch targets.
  • Able to manage ambiguity - working within a complex, fluid, organisational environment with limited data visibility and diverse processes.
  • Ability to manage a high level of diverse projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent business acumen, knowledge of financial fundamentals and analytical skills
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills
  • Ability to interact with key stakeholders and build trust at all levels of the organisation, including Senior Executive level.
  • Must be able to develop, manage and lead own agenda.
  • Languages: fluency in written and spoken English required, local languages an advantage.
