Senior Windows Server / Citrix XenApp administrator
Introduction
For our Technology and Operations organization we are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Windows server / Citrix XenApp administrator with proven track record in building and maintaining large scale automated environments. In this position you are the lead in a team of 5 Wintel administrators that are responsible for ensuring the successful delivery, performance, stability, security and continuity of NNIP IT infrastructure services. The core of the technical team is located in our headquarters in The Hague, the other part of the team is located in Kolkata, India.
The ideal candidate will be a pragmatic, energetic technician with excellent technical as well as communication skills, superb attention to detail and original thinking. The candidate should takes ownership of the environment he is responsible for, and is able to take the lead within his team. NN IP has strong plans to migrate to the public cloud (Azure, IaaS), developed skills in that area are a pre. The job is based in The Hague, the Netherlands.
Main responsibilities
- As the senior member of the Wintel team, in order to provide services that enable customers to effectively apply IT to business requirements, supporting the installation, optimization, integration, modification, troubleshooting, backup, recovery, security and upgrade of relevant IT systems and components.

- Provide technical guidance & support to colleagues
- Being able to work with other senior staff to recommend and design systems architecture and propose topologies from both general and specific perspectives
- Serve as an IT consultant for new initiatives and migrations, participate in strategic planning for product technologies with the IT infrastructure architect
- Liaison with IT security to implement and maintain a secure IT infrastructure; evaluate efficacy of systems and research/recommend appropriate changes
- Suggest security improvements by assessing current situation
- Designing, implementing, and evaluating current and future infrastructure initiatives for the highest level of efficiency and performance.
- General Administration of the Wintel environment: OS Installation, maintaining OS installation build, patching and upgrading, automated software deployment via SCCM, Citrix XenApp administration, performance tuning, Active Directory (GPO) management.
- Performing 3rd level incident and problem diagnosis, troubleshooting and resolution
- Designing and maintaining relevant documentation.
- Working closely with, and participating in various agile squads.
- Maintaining the stability of the infrastructure and application landscape by controlled change implementation.
- Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related fields (or equivalent experience) required.
- At least five plus (5) years' administration experience, specifically in managing and supporting
- Windows server
- Active Directory
- Microsoft Azure
- Citrix XenApp
- VmWare ESXi
- SCCM
- Strong troubleshooting skills (3rd line).
- Experience with configuration management via Microsoft SCCM 2012.
- Experience with systems monitoring software like Nagios or HP Operations Manager.
- Strongly developed troubleshooting skills
- Strong focus on IT security
- Knowledge of and large practical experience with ITIL
- Skilled in a at least one typical scripting language (Vbscript, Powershell).
- Must be able to work evenings and/or weekends and/or during change windows outside of normal business hours.
- Must be able to work independently and within an agile squad
- Ability to consult the customer on business requirements.
- Excellent problem solving, multitasking, troubleshooting skills and attention to details are required to work in this challenging and dynamic environment.
- Very strong interpersonal, customer service, result oriented and team building skills are essential.
- Excellent communication skills – written, verbal, and presentation in English (required) and Dutch (preferred)

- Certified as Microsoft Systems Engineer
- Citrix certification CCP-V
- ITIL Foundation
