Job Description

For our Finance & Projects Practice we are looking for an Associate Banking (3-5 years experience)

In our Banking group we work on a wide range of deals in mainstream, leverage, asset and project finance, examples some of recent our deals are advising:

  • The Coordinating Committee on the financial restructuring of Estro Groep B.V., a market shaping project in the Netherlands;
  • Eight commercial lenders and the European Investment Bank (EIB) as the consortium for the €1bn A1/A6 highway PPP project, a landmark infrastructure deal in the Netherlands to improve links between Schiphol, Amsterdam and Almere (PFI EMEA Road Deal of the Year 2013);
  • ING Bank and ABN AMRO Bank on the €300m revolving credit facility for Corbion N.V.

Key responsibilities and challenges

  • You will be working on challenging matters for Dutch and international clients. Key responsibilities include drafting loan documentation, related intercreditor agreements, security documents and related documents
  • Building and maintaining co-operative, communicative relationships with the client team
  • Participating in recruitment initiatives, client marketing and developing networks with other professionals, participating at conferences and professional organisations
  • Participating in the legal academic debate by writing articles will be encouraged

Characteristics, Skills & Experience

  • You are qualified in Dutch law and have 3-5 years experience
  • You have experience and a keen interest in Banking law (financial regulatory, mainstream, leverage, asset and/or project finance), interest and experience in financial regulatory matters is a plus
  • You have excellent drafting skills in Dutch and English
  • You have a strong analytical mind and you enjoy drafting in a convincing and prescriptive manner
  • You are able to demonstrate an imaginative and commercial approach, combining this with a commitment to deliver the highest quality standards to our clients
  • You enjoy using your legal expertise in creating relationships with existing and future clients
  • You have the perseverance and resilience to perform well under pressure
  • You enjoy working in an international team alongside highly accomplished lawyers in different disciplines from across the world
