Your job as Investor Relations Officer

This is an exciting opportunity to take on a stimulating Investor Relations role active in a dynamic industry. Working in a small team and reporting to the Head of IR –who reports directly to the CFO–, the IR Officer will play a key role in facilitating the delivery of an effective investor relations function, providing clear and transparent communication of KPN’s strategy and business performance to the capital markets.

This job and its responsibilities enable you to rapidly get to know KPN’s organization, processes and future prospects. It is a challenging, dynamic function where knowledge and experience come to good use. The work involves high impact and the direct contacts with investors and analysts demand great care.

As Investor Relations Officer you are responsible for:

 

  • Contributing to IR responsibilities in being intermediary between KPN and the international capital markets;
  • Contributing ideas and helps to make internal presentations for the Board and the Supervisory Board on specific topics relevant to investor relations.
  • Creating and maintaining strong internal and external relationships with M&A, Finance, Treasury, Strategy, External Reporting and Control;
  • Advising and guiding members of the Board in their contact with existing and potential new shareholders and equity research analysts;
  • Initiating and carrying out projects that have a direct impact on the communication with the capital markets and therefore the share price.

 

Together with the Investor Relations team you are jointly responsible for:

 

  • The day-to-day communication with the international financial community, particularly European equity research analysts, mainly located in London, but also investors world-wide;
  • The flawless execution of quarterly publications, including presentations and press releases;
  • Relationships with a wide-range of investors in KPN shares and bonds. Organizing successful road shows, conferences, strategy meetings and the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders;
  • Offering an outside-in perspective of the international capital markets and the European telecoms sector to senior management (including the Board and Supervisory Board).

 

What do we expect from you?

 

  • University (+) degree;
  • Significant relevant working experience in Investor Relations, financial markets, investment banking or strategy consulting;
  • Featuring a mature character with personal solidly based opinions, able to act as sparring partner for the KPN Board and the very experienced and highly educated investors and analysts;
  • Stress-resistant, with strong analytical skills;
  • Good with financial numbers and people, and feeling for the right balance between salesmanship and diplomacy;
  • Having excellent (fluent) verbal and written communication skills in English and Dutch;
  • Given the 24/7/365 mentality of the clients, the size of the IR team and the volume and impact of the work, an above-average enthusiasm for work, a feeling of responsibility, energy and a strong drive are indispensable;
  • Willing to travel abroad.
