Then you'll be joining an in-house team building cross-platform apps that are fun, provide an amazing user experience, and help kids learn the abstract concepts of energy.
The job

As a socially conscious, environmentally responsible enterprise, that’s the whole reason we started our company in 2014. So we created Hyko, a super-powered polar bear named after an Inuit word for “ice”. Through Hyko’s storybook adventures and a forthcoming smart connected lamp and energy-monitoring device, Hyko gives families the power to understand their energy consumption and make a positive difference in their homes and in the world. At the moment, we are working with major energy companies in Europe to bring Hyko to the market.
You will be responsible for:
- Take charge of our hybrid app development and fundamental back-end services (technology selection and architecture)
- Make sure our hybrid app technology can serve our customers
- Work with our designers, customers and marketing to deliver a great product.
- To be successful in this job, you'll need:
- 2+ years’ experience working in Front-End Development.
- Production experience with Hybrid App development (Ionic, Cordova, Titanium, React or other).
- Experience with cloud platforms like Google Compute Engine or Amazon Web Services.
- Ability to communicate ideas and decisions to non techies.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs and knowledge of how to interface with them.
- A passion toward education, environment and children
Our ideal candidate should also have:
- Experience building interactive native mobile apps/games
- Experience with Bluetooth Low-Energy and Smartphone Sensors
- Experience implementing full-stack applications
- Experience implementing real-time applications
- Prior experience in a startup
