Graduate Analyst - Junior Product Engineer

As a Graduate Analyst you will become part of our IPS team and assigned to key initiatives in solution development, proof of concepts and client engagement where you will work alongside experienced Cognizant employees delivering IPS services to gain experience from practice.

An Introduction to Intelligent Products & Solutions (IPS)

IPS has the capability and expertise to execute product and process innovation to connected intelligence in both industrial and consumer setups. We are 3500+ strong team globally distributed and have broad range of expertise in functional areas such as Product development, Machine learning, Industrial Operations, Internet of Things, and related subjects. We are one of the smaller groups in Cognizant and rapidly growing which gives a very challenging and entrepreneurial environment.

Your role as Junior Product Engineer

You will be involved in across range of activities based out of Digital Collab in Amsterdam involving: proof of concepts/ solution feasibility, prototype building, customer projects involving gathering and understanding the needs, over functional design, architecting the solution, as well as supervising the detailed technical design, to preparing and executing the functional and product tests before handover. All done closely together with your Project/Scrum team helping you to grow further.

Personal Development

Prior to starting your first client engagement, you will attend a three weeks induction program for graduates abroad to ensure you have a solid understanding of Cognizant’s culture and processes. You will have the opportunity for further training and support by our own Academy to help you achieve your long-term career goals, like Working with different cultures, Requirement gathering, Project management, Agile development and many more.

After the new hire training you will spend up to 3 months, learning all ins & outs IPS services:

  • Fundamentals of product design and development
  • Embedded/Firmware/Hardware development
  • IoT and Sensory and analytics solution training
  • Customer project lifecycle

The induction program normally starts in January, May or September. These are also the moments when you will start.

In addition to your day to day project manager and your IPS supervisor, we will assign a mentor from another Business Unit within Cognizant to ensure you get all the help and support you need to start your career on the best footing.

Key requirements:
  • Min. Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering, such as Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical, Automotive other related majors.
  • Firmware, wireless connectivity, embedded will be good
  • Exposure to JAVA, .NET, MATLAB, (similar analytical tool) will be good
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with global project teams
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Language skills: Dutch and English is a must (preferably also French)
  • Nil or maximum 1 year work experience
  • You must be authorized and eligible to work freely in the EU
