Job Purpose
This position reports to the Director, Procurement CoE and is responsible for the Commodity Risk Management and Hedging Strategy development for underlying raw material exposures within packaging, ingredients, and energy. The value of overall commodities exposure for these areas is approx $1 billion. The role will also support category managers and the overall procurement team in delivering regular market forecasts for the categories with embedded commodities exposures. The position has one direct report, based in Bulgaria.
This position is also a member of the overall Procurement Team and the role is accountable for:
- Develop commodity specific risk management and hedging strategies in the following areas: Aluminium, Gas/Power, Sugar, Petrochemicals, Coffee, and other packaging as applicable.
- Market analysis for major commodity areas
- Forecasts for key commodity raw material components in the Long Range Plan, Annual Business Plan and regular Monthly forecasting processes.
- Leverage Coca-Cola system resources and expertise within the Cross Enterprise Procurement Team for key commodity areas.
- Explore opportunities to develop further hedging capabilities working with Procurement category managers, Suppliers and related third parties to identify and implement strategies
- Manage hedging practices consistent with corporate policies and public company compliance framework.
- Liaison with Corporate Treasury department to support strategy implementation as needed and with required documentation.
- Maintain files and database associated with hedging programs and performance metrics.
- Contributing as a member of the overall Procurement Team on various initiatives and with accomplishing overall Procurement Objectives
- Provide regular information updates and support to internal partners and stakeholders such as Supply Chain Finance team, Accounting, and Investor Relations department.
- Ensure all internal and external audit requirements are met at all times whilst liaising with Treasury and Risk on a continuous basis.
Qualification/ Experience required:
- Degree in the areas of Business/Finance/Economics
- Experience in hedging, risk management within a Corporate environment, and ideally also with procurement experience within an international consumer goods environment
- Experience initiating and implementing strategies in a corporate environment
- Experience in cross-functional and international project management
- Knowledge of compliance with accounting, and other regulations for publicly held companies, current procurement policies, practices and procedures, as well as, procurement and supply chain management processes.
