Once educational institutions, government agencies and other businesses sign on to use Google for Work products to make their work more productive, mobile and collaborative, you come in. As a Google for Work Sales Engineer, you assist fellow Sales Googlers by problem-solving key technical issues for our customers. You liaise with the Product Marketing Management and Engineering teams to stay on top of industry trends and devise enhancements to Google for Work products.
Many of our prospects are looking to resolve business challenges and compete by using modern cloud-based Google technologies – working from anywhere, on any device. As a Sales Engineer, you have skills in drawing out and identifying the challenges these businesses face, and then looking to identify how Google solutions can resolve these challenges.
Responsibilities
- Engage with prospects, prepare and present demonstrations of Google products, and address technical questions that arise throughout the business process.
- Work closely with our product, support, engineering, and sales teams.
- Lead the technical track of the agreement, including such activities as supporting responses, product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and the coordination of supporting technical resources.
- Work hands-on with Google for Work's Apps products to demonstrate and prototype integrations in customer/partner environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to speak and write in English fluently and idiomatically.
- Experience serving in a pre-sales capacity or experience in a customer facing role working as a member of a professional services or systems engineering team.
- Excellent communicator who has experience presenting to different audiences.
- Ability to identify customer business requirements, and resolve these with cloud-based solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of web and related technologies (HTTP, Basic/NTLM, cookies/sessions, XML/XSLT/XHTML/HTML), including a working knowledge of web application development and integration (REST, SOAP, J2EE, CGI/Java/ASP servlets).
- Ability to speak and write in Dutch fluently and idiomatically.
