Flow Traders is a technology-driven principal trading firm. We combine financial knowledge with engineering skills to maintain and evolve a complex globe spanning trading infrastructure to serve our 3 trading offices in our 24/5 trading operation.
To meet the demands, we're looking to expand our software development department with new talent, someone that perfectly understands the importance of social cohesion amongst software developers, that safeguards quality, and someone that is capable of approaching challenges from multiple angles. This person needs to be extremely business-minded, but also needs to have a deep understanding of concepts like; low latency, scalability, high availability.
Stuff you will work on:
- Collective engineering approach
- Strong focus on re-use
- Dynamic assignments (we highly value people with multiple skills and know how to put them to use)
- Challenging non-functional requirements (sub-ms latencies, high reliability, extreme scalability, and a short time to market)
Requirements
- Engineering excellence (average is not good enough for us)
- Affinity with key technologies we use (c++, core java, linux, networking, fpgas)
- A huge plus for management level skills: project coordination and management, architectural overview, communication skills (especially with members of other departments)
