The Unilever Consumer and Market Insight (CMI) BNL team is looking for a new “CMI Market Analyst” based in Rotterdam.
The CMI function’s mission is to show the business how and where to win. In the role of CMI Market Analyst you will contribute in this mission by supporting the CMI Analytics manager in business partnering with Marketing, CD, Finance and Senior management.
Within CMI you will be able to broaden your experience, both within CMI and the wider business, but also build expertise in the continuously evolving area of Analytics to actively use the gained knowledge to provide added value to the business.
Within this role you will be required to:
- Offer foresight rather than just insight, by proactively identifying retailer/category/competitor and
consumer trends and support the Analytics manager to determine tactical and strategic
opportunities
- Aim for the breakthrough analysis on complex business issues or questions no one have
asked before
- Be independent and deliver objective and provoking views of the business which can lead to
transformational actions in a storytelling way
- Operate in a professional manner, applying existing CMI tools and keep a finger on the pulse
on newly developed analytical capabilities
- Develop a solid understanding of Brand building, Customer development and business planning
by hands on experience
- Closely network with the European Analytics and Market Insight network to drive the market
insight agenda
- To work in Rotterdam (home base) and Brussels ( min. once a month)
- Report and review performance based on existing reporting facilities on a monthly basis
- Identify growth opportunities and insights based on continuous data (i.e. Nielsen,
MillwardBrown ) and secondary sources (CEC, GNPD etc.) by applying existing and new
techniques
- Provide support in conducting and embedding Marketing Mix modeling results by using
scenario tools to determine growth opportunities
- Manage assigned Analytics projects (ranging from ad hoc requests up to full Modeling studies
depending on experience and background) from start-to-end within time and budget
- Provide input to the quarterly Global Forecasting process
- Track Innovation performance from Unilever and competition
- Coordinate agency work plan and timings
- Support roll-out of new global Nielsen reporting solution
- Translate business needs into automated standard reports where applicable
- Master’s degree
- At least 1 year of relevant work experience
- Strong communication and influencing skills
- Proven track record on analytical skills and capable of translating outcomes into
recommendations
- Advanced knowledge of MSExcel and familiar with visualization tools like Tableau,
MicroStrategy or similar
- Knowledge in retailscandata (Nielsen) is preferred
