Main purpose

To lead the delivery of the Cat Man agenda with Jumbo/Superunie by a)helping to set the internal & external category agenda for Jumbo/Superunie across all PEP NL categories; b) applying customer, shopper, and category insights to shape and impact the long term growth of PEP NL and customers; c) strengthening wiring, influence and partnership on key strategic projects and. The Category Manager SU/Jumbo acts as an advisor and decision driver by turning category expertise into recommendations for the development of a specific category/brand at a specific group of customers.
Consults with the Customer Trade Manager for his/her accounts.

Expert advisor role to customers

* Start and lead category management projects with the customer to identify growth possibilities. Leverage core insights and translate these into specific customer strategies and executes to maximise presence on shelf (e.g. improving assortment, shelf presentation) and optimize promotional effectiveness.

* Recognizes fundamental Shopper Behaviours across the shopper journey (pre-shop, shop, post-shop) and delivers actionable insights (connecting Consumer, Shopper and Customer) on how these translate for Pepsico categories/brands to Shopper Marketing.

* Act as the knowledge centre of a specific category at specific retailers. In addition, he/she integrates economic, competitor, market and industry data and identifies critical business trends for his/her customer and categories.

* Collaborates with Sales in Joint Business Planning (e.g. Scorecarding)

* Co-leads discussions with Customer to implement growth plans for both Pepsico and the Customer

* Provides, proactively and reactively, retail marketing mix solutions to the customer.

consults with the (Sr) category manager

Group Manager and/or (National) Account Manager on above topics.

Reporting:
* Delivers a game plan for NPD to responsible Category Manager for his group of accounts.
* Maintains and develops periodic reporting on the category, channel and customers insights.

Meeting structure:
* Account team meeting: role ?
* Co-lead Growth Plan sessions with customer
* Category meetings with Category Managers

Key skills

* BA pref. MA degree
* 3+ years of experience with category management, preferably in a multinational/FMCG setting
* available for 5 days (4 days is an option)
