Our team’s expertise focuses on Digital Regulations under the current Europe Fit for a Digital Age priority which includes topics related to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). As a team we help clients with a variety of complex questions on digital regulations and privacy topics such as the regulation of artificial intelligence, digital markets, online platform environments, data-sharing, direct marketing, the collection and processing of personal data, Privacy-by-Design, cross-border privacy issues (both EU and international), biometric data, the security of personal data (encryption, authorization, policy), Privacy-Enhancing-Technologies, (de-)anonymisation issues, among others.
In joining, you will play an integral role in assisting our clients navigate new challenges and get the benefits of data and digital solutions in a responsible manner when it comes to clients, citizens, regulators and other stakeholders.
- you have knowledge on Digital Regulations from the Europe Fit for a Digital Age priority, including the GDPR, and open to gain more expertise in this field of work;
- you advise clients on the applicability, requirements and risks associated with digital regulations;
- you provide guidance to clients on legal, organisational and technical digital regulatory and privacy related issues;
- you perform privacy and digital regulatory assessments based on established standards and protocols;
- you develop mitigation strategies of digital risk for organizations that want to act responsibly in a digital environment;
- you are eager to delve into current market developments and create actionable client propositions;
- you can support project/program management and maintain strong client relationships.

You have a passion and understanding of the importance to protect the rights of individuals in the digital age while making use of data and digital solutions responsibly. This means you have good knowledge of GDPR and privacy related issues and a keen interest in the emerging digital regulations such as the DSA, DMA, AI Act, Data (Governance) Act, that comprise Europe Fit for a Digital Age.You need the following qualifications for the position of Consultant Digital Regulations & Privacy:
- a university degree, this can be either a legal, a business or a technical degree, such as (but not limited to): IP/IT law, Information law, Information Management, (Business) Economics, Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Science, or another related discipline;
- an excellent command of the English language, both verbal and written;
- native or proficient level of Dutch, both verbal and written;
- a client-oriented and proactive attitude;
- the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively, with strong technical, analytical and critical thinking skills;
- a pragmatic, flexible and results-oriented approach to provide high-quality work under tight deadlines;
- the ambition to learn and develop yourself professionally while developing others as you progress.
You share your expertise with about 90 other colleagues in the Regulatory & Financial Risk team which is part of Deloitte Strategy, Risk & Transaction Advisory.
Our team combines Financial and Non-Financial Regulatory Reporting Standards. Together with our teams within Regulatory & Financial Risk we use our advisory, data and modelling skills to solve complex challenges for our customers within Financial
