Introduction to the Job

Join our dynamic Platform Engineering and BACO teams at ASML, where we empower internal teams to deploy cloud infrastructure through self-service portals. With over 150 supported cloud workloads and growing, we offer customizable cloud landing zones and seamless deployment experiences. As a Solution Architect, you will play a strategic and hands-on role in shaping robust, scalable, and maintainable cloud solutions.

Role and Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the overall solution architecture across both the Platform Engineering and BACO teams, closely aligning with system architects. You will guide the architecture of supported cloud workloads and collaborate with engineering leads and stakeholders to ensure alignment with business goals and technical standards.

Key responsibilities include:

• Architectural Ownership: Define and maintain the solution architecture for both team products, ensuring consistency, scalability, and alignment with enterprise standards.
• Workload Guidance: Collaborate with workload teams to guide them in designing and implementing sound cloud-native solutions that meet both functional and non-functional requirements.
• Collaboration with Engineering: Work closely with lead engineers to ensure architectural designs are clearly understood and effectively implemented.
• Technical Governance: Establish and promote architectural principles, patterns, and best practices across teams.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a key point of contact for architecture-related discussions with internal stakeholders, including security, compliance, and operations.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve architectural processes, tooling, and documentation.

Education and Experience

• At least 5 years of experience as senior engineer.
• Strong experience in solution architecture, particularly in cloud infrastructure and platform services.
• Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).
• Experience with Azure DevOps, Azure Functions, and scripting (Bash, PowerShell).
• Solid understanding of cloud security, networking, and observability practices.
• Familiarity with tools like Azure Monitor, Azure Databricks and Azure Data Factory.
• Experience with Python and REST API design is a plus.

• Experience with product lifecycle management and architectural governance.
• Familiarity with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices (e.g., Service Level Indicator, Service Level Objectives, error budget, eliminating toil, etc.).
