About IMC financial markets
IMC financial markets started on the trading floor in Amsterdam in 1989, as a market maker in Dutch single stock options. When European exchanges started to transform into electronic market places, IMC was at the cutting edge of this transition and one of the first to start electronic trading. Today we are one of the world’s leading proprietary trading firms and a key market maker in various products listed on exchanges throughout the world. Our edge comes from keeping our technical people in very close proximity to our traders: putting the best technology available to work and collaborating with each other on innovative ways of using and improving it. IMC employs around 500 people and has offices in Amsterdam, Delft, Zug, Chicago, Sydney and Hong Kong.
We engage primarily in algorithmic arbitrage and market making. While our primary business is high frequency trading, we also consider ourselves a cutting edge technology firm. The mix of high performing algorithms, state of the art software, hardware and the latest technology to connect to the exchanges gives us our competitive edge. Our success is based on a unique combination of talent and technology, with interaction between specialists such as Traders, Quants and IT Specialists.
Program In-house Day
The IMC In-house Day starts with a lunch while one of our Recruiters welcomes you. During the day you will enjoy presentations in which you learn more about IMC and our activities in the market. However, we believe in learning by doing! Therefore we will trigger you and your brains with a challenging case study. By that time you probably need a little break to get recharged. After the break we will continue with a Trading Simulation in which we allow you to push the buttons yourself and compete with each other. By the end of the day one of IMC’s Traders will be more than happy to answer all the questions you have regarding our business, life at IMC, job opportunities etc. We will conclude the day by announcing the winning team of the Trading Simulation in our in-house bar while having drinks and snacks with other IMC employees.
